Revision Levels
Level 1: Light Revision (Preserve Structure)
- Correct grammar and spelling errors
- Improve sentence flow (combine short sentences, break long ones)
- Replace ambiguous terms with precise ones
- Standardize terminology and formatting
- Preserve all existing meaning and structure
Level 2: Medium Revision (Improve Structure)
All of Level 1 plus:
- Reorganize paragraphs within sections for logical flow
- Add or improve transitions between sections
- Split or merge sections for better focus
- Rewrite unclear or verbose passages
- Normalize heading hierarchy
- Add code examples where missing
Level 3: Heavy Revision (Restructure)
All of Level 1 and 2 plus:
- Reorganize chapter/section order
- Split document into multiple documents if too long
- Merge related documents if cross-references are excessive
- Add missing conceptual content
- Restructure content type (tutorial to reference, FAQ to guide)
- Rewrite from outline for significantly improved clarity
Analysis Before Revision
Read the entire document and produce a revision plan:

- Document type (reference, tutorial, concept, README)
- Audience match (is the level appropriate for the intended reader?)
- Length and complexity (too long? too shallow?)
- Structural issues (missing sections, wrong order, missing context)

Revision proposal:
- Recommended revision level (1, 2, or 3)
- Specific changes planned
- Estimated effort
- Sections to preserve as-is

Execute revision:
- Apply changes incrementally, one section at a time
- Preserve voice and existing domain terminology
- Update cross-references after structural changes
- Verify all links and references remain valid
Quality Checks After Revision
- First paragraph still captures the topic
- No duplicated content (check after merging sections)
- Transition sentences connect all adjacent sections
- Terminology is consistent throughout
- No broken cross-references
- All code examples still match their descriptions
